My beloved sisters & brothers in Christ
i was just wondering if anyone learned something spiritual helps you during the liturgy.
do you have any personal practice that you learned from ur best friend , maybe ur father of confession , monks, nuns. sunday school teacher, spiritual father
+ my spiritual best friend taught me saying that whenever you feel lost track of yourself during liturgy or somehow pick up the agyia and read one psalm to get ur thought back. + ofcourse most of us knows the hymns by heart. my spiritual father told me insteat of holding the book close ur eyes and forgot about who is around you and remember it's only you and God .
+ one thing to try to do during the liturgy so we don't get off track and keep our concentration is we either close our eyes or look in to Christ's icon and just listen really carefully to the words and u can also look at the last supper icon,( i think every church has that o top of the altar) and just live in the liturgy and forget everything outside as if ur alone inside with God and that's it.. so i mean thats wat i do and it works most of the time.

Our God is the Loving Father. His heart breaks in our brokenness. In our entire affliction and distress He also is afflicted (Isaiah 63:9). As to Moses the LORD says to you and me: I have indeed seen your misery, I have heard your cry out and I am concerned about your suffering. So I have come down to rescue you (Exodus 3:7-8).



He sent His Son to heal the brokenhearted. Isaiah said of the Christ, “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted” (Isaiah 66:2). This was fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ as He said, "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me; to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted” (Luke 4:18). “He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them” (Heb 7:25, NKJV).



The Heavenly Father is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them (Psalms 145:18-19). He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalms 147:3).



Be still my soul and wait for the LORD.

My Friend, let's call her x, so x likes a guy, that i seriously dislike. He's a flirt and she got jealous, oh btw, he doesn't know she likes him. so x got so mad she started writing him a letter saying stuff like " How can u be at church and all you do is check out grls, etc''
She got really agessive with the letter. She l8r put it in his wallet, when he left it unattended. She thought he had read the 1st letter so she wrote a second telling him she cares. After reading the second letter before the first, his pride got to him, thinking he's the best, but when he opened his wallet moments later and found the note, he got mad, REALLY MAD. So, naturally, he wrote he a letter back insulting her.
Now, she wants to get me involved and he's using me as his messenger along with another friend, and i'm sick of it. I want to help x and give her advice, but i don't want her to involve my like she always does.

Well, my name is Monica and it means "advisor".
I like my name a lot for a bunch of reasons and one reason is because I love the story of Saint Monica :)
I got to be named that because my mom asked an Abouna what I should be called and he first said I should be called Erene but my mom said that there was already an Erene in the family so she asked Abouna is my name could be Monica-Erene and he agreed but you know what... nobody calls me.. everyone just calls me Monica :)
Anyway, I thank God for being called Monica.. i think its nice :)

What is holiness? In the New Testament the word basically means "sanctification" which in turn means "to be set apart". All christians are called to a life of personal holiness.A life of purity.A life seperate from the corrupting influences of this present world(the world system};one set apart unto the glory and honor of our God.A life that says NO to sin and YES to God. We need to tell sin," Sin,I hate you! I want no part of you anymore! I'm a temple of the Holy Spirit and there's no place for you here. Get out of my life and dont come back!" By God's grace we will overcome the power of sin in our life.

As we begin to walk the path of purity,the way of holiness,people around us will begin to notice a difference in our lives.The'll say,"Hmmm,theres something different about my friend.He or she doesnt do the things they use to do--getting drunk and partying,swearing,listening to bad music,etc.etc. I wonder whats come over them". Then we'll be able to tell them about the hope that is within us, that we're christians,a people set apart for the glory and honor of God.We'll tell them that we love Jesus and want to please Him in all things.As christians we cant do the things that the world thinks are cool and OK, but rather God has saved us and called us to a different life.A life of purity and holiness before the LORD.The world may think that purity and holiness are boring and restrictive but actually we find true happiness and freedom when we obey the LORD and keep His commandments.Being a christian is a wonderful and fullfulling life which the world cant understand until they recieve the Lord Jesus Christ and believe on His Name.


My friends,can people see a difference in our lives? Is our life a witness to the power and love of our Lord Jesus. Is our life set apart dedicated to God. If not then let us ask God to give us grace and help us live a life pleasing unto the LORD our God .A holy,pure,set apart life.


"Now in a great house there are not only vessals of gold and silver but also of wood and clay,some for honorable use,some for dishonorable.Therefore,if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable,he will be a vessal for honorable use,set apart as holy,useful to the master of the house,ready for every good work",2nd Timothy 2:20,21.
