I heard it contained the acual words of Christ, but I'm not too sure if the church recognizes this gospel or even believes in it, if anyone has any info, let me know, thanx!

GOD BLESS ALL! :-*

One of the verses in that gospel was "The kingdom of God is inside you and all around not in mansions of wood and stone, split a piece of wood and I am there, lift a stone and you will find me"

Even if our church doesnt believe in this gospel, i really like this verse because it seems to have a very powerful meaning.... :-\

I have been writing a book on Christianity for many years now. You would be glad to know that the aim of the book is to prove to anybody that has any doubts about our faith that Christ is the son of God and that also the Bible is the most perfect story in evry way.
Personally, this has made me closer to God to the extent that I am conteplating a career in the church - its all in God's hands now.
However, I am writing because I would like to know people's view, opions etc... on many issues. These issues seem clear to me in many ways, but as I am sure that I do not know it all, I would ask your help in this question (AND MANY MORE IN THE FUTURE). The question being (and they are all "why" questions):

Why did God choose Barabaus to stand aganist Chirst?
(I am refering to the moment in time when the crowed had to choose between Jesus or Barabaus.)
Why Barabaus not any other crook?

Please let me have your thoughts on the matter.
Unfortunately I have name that is often mistaken for being a Muslim. This does not bother me for whilst St Peter denied Jesus three times in one night, I have to announce and confirm my faith at least once every day in my life.

Has this strengthened my faith? Certainly.

So what’s the problem? I do realise that we do not live in a perfect world. Some people in the west do not believe that there are Christians in Egypt. Certainly most of people in the west seem to think that nothing but Islam lives in Egypt. It has been taught to educate many of these simple people – I do think that some have grasp the concept of simple Geography that for Christianity to come to the west that it must have gone through Egypt! A religious and history lesson also tells us that Jesus entered Egypt and blessed its people.
My concern is for the so called junk mail that I receive from Islamic organisations that send me literature (mainly asking for money to help Muslims only!!). So how do I stop these people from assuming that I am not a Christian and sending me this junk (cr@p)?

I have a brother that has an ancient Egyptian (pharaohs) name and he does not get these. His approach was to contact the distributors of my details and ask them not to send my details out. After careful consideration I have decided not respond to these so junk mail for the following reasons:

(a) If the devil tempts you then turn away,
(b) I like to know what the so called ‘enemy’ is up to with regards to asking for help, money, etc…
(c) Let them waist their money is sending me these junk mail, better spend it on postage than on weapons,
(d) there are many organisation that send these junk mails and as a result it would be an on-going activity, plus many of these organisations are overseas such as Pakistan and India.

Certainly one solution would be to change my name to a Biblical name. This has issues over family, finances, etc…. plus the confirmation of my faith as mentioned above.

Let me have your thoughts on the matter.

Found at www.coptic.org.au a forum discussing Giving without question.

Here are some examples of the posts there;

"This topic is to discuss "giving without question".

Let me start with a question. If a homless man/woman in the city asks for $2, as christians do we put our hand in our pocket and give? Or do we question where this money will end up?"

Answers to the Question include;

"I think that we should give to anyone who asks as our Lord said "Freely you have been given, freely give".

The money that we have is a gift from God, and as christians we are obliged to share and give to others. "

and

"Very interesting topic...permit me to add my two cents to the discussion...

in regard to the original question posted by Tad....

I walk through the city everyday and see many of these beggars, buskers, and homeless persons....i always tend to turn a blind eye, and if im asked for '$2 for my bus fare home', i usually interpret that as '$2 for my drug addiction'...i am not one to judge, because there are many people out there with differing situations and predicaments...but i would like to put forward a thought...one that is not my own, but i have heard this done before...if you are approached by a beggar for some spare change, why dont you kindly offer to buy him a sandwich with the money instead...i think it would be safe to say that such a thing would not be appreciated...

there is a homeless man i see everyday...every morning i see him with two big bags of stale bread, which i assume he obtained from the nearby bakery...i see him sitting on the park bench, feeding the pigeons with this bread...and every day i think to myself, 'if this guy was so hungry and homeless, why is he just throwing this bread away'....he usually has a bottle in one hand i might add...

again, i am not one to judge, these are just some observations....
and sure, giving to those in need may be the christian way, but if you know they are going to hurt themselves with this money, and are not genuinely going to use it for their well being, then i dont think god would judge you for not extending the charitable hand...

they are my thoughts anyway"

Seems like an interesting topic to start here.

Happy trails

Ross
