Hey everyone,

I was reading the parable of the unjust steward in Luke 16:1-9 and I am really confused. I don't understand the message that Jesus is trying to get across. In verse 8, Jesus says that the unjust steward was commended because he had dealt shrewdly. Does this mean that Jesus wants us to act shrewdly? I'm pretty sure that is not the message because Jesus obviously wants us to be truthful with each other and not trick each other.

Can someone please explain this parable to me?

Thank You and God bless.

My problem might seem pretty stupid to some people, but to myself it feels like a big deal.

Basically, sometimes I feel love a lot, such as love of God, love of other people, love of family etc, but other times, particularly as well lately, I feel not deprived of love, but lacking love, which leads me to other things such as severe boughts of depression. What can I do to "feel" more love towards God and other people? Sorry if I wasn't very clear, but I didn't really know how to put it

Peace and Blessings,
WMA

Hey everybody,
I came across a website that has arguments against the Christian faith and against the Holy Bible http://www.geocities.com/b_r_a_d_99/index.html
I decided to read some of their arguments so that I can research them and hopefully learn something by defending our faith. But, one thing that they mentioned was an inconsistency between the Gospels, and I couldn't find any argument against it.
What they said was that the Gospels did not agree with each other on where Jesus first appeared to the eleven disciples as a group after resurrecting from the dead. The Gospel of Matthew clearly shows in chapter 28 verse 10 that Jesus appeared to the women who brought spices to His tomb and told them to tell the disciples that He will meet them in Galilee, and in verse 16 it says that they went to Galilee and met Jesus for the first time as a group there. However, in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 24 verses 33-36 says that Jesus appeared to the disciples for the first time in Jerusalem. Jerusalem and Galilee are about 60 miles apart.

I was once told that the four gospels are not to be compared to each other because each one was written towards a different audience. But if this is true, how can the gospels not agree on such an important event?
Someone please try to answer this question.

Thanks and God bless.

hey guys i havent been here for a while so hopefully i will be welcomed again :)

neways i just read in my psychology book that researchers have found a correlation with biological factors and being homosexual

for instance, they found that when ppl are gay, they tended to be left-handed, had special fingerprints, and had a particualar gene that heterosexual ppl didnt have. Also, they found statistics with twins that led them to believe that when one identical twin is gay, there is a 50% chance the other too will be gay.

So yea this research baffled me because i have always been taught that being gay is a socially constructed condition, and that biology has no role.

Can someone plz give me more evidence and reason as to why our church doesnt think its a biologically- based condition?

Dearest all,

Does anyone have any articles or commentaries or meditations/contemplations on the Lent fractions BOTH the Sunday and the weekday Fractions?

Some main questions that come up in mind are:

Why is the Daily fraction addressed to the Son and the Sunday addressed to the Father?
What are the important points and lessons that we concentrate on each of the fractions?
Is there a specific pattern of the fractions, and the word "pattern" can mean anything (i.e. I'm keeping this word broad for ANY pattern whatsoever)?

God bless.

Mina
