I go to a catholic highschool and every once in a while a preist would come in and perform a mass in the gym. This one time i really paid attention to what the priest was doing. Like us the catholics believe that the bread and blood is actually converted into the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. But what I saw really shocked me. Everyone had finished taking the body and blood and now the preist was holding the rest of the blood and he drank it all infront of everyone...what shocked me was the immediatly after he drank it he took a little napkin and WIPPED the rest of the blood inside the cup. Without adding water to make sure he got every little bit of blood he just drank it and wipped it. In my mind I could not believe what I had just seen, all i could think about is "well what are they going to do with the napkin, surely some of the blood got absorbed onto it. Than i just saw him give the cup and the napkin to 2 of the alter servers and they walked away and the mass was finished.

Hi everyone! Here's a theory i wanted to share on how the world may have been created.

Seeing how Noah's Flood rained for 40 days and 40 nights, and how the waters reached above the tallest of mountains, could it have been possible that this ongoing rain could have split the earth? I mean, could have God created Pangaea, which would have later split into the continents we now live in? Wouldn't the flood have had enough power to shift the earth's crust beneath?

And this would also explain how Noah found many of the world's animals: The earth was just one piece of land that they could have travelled around to get them. To further show how Pangaea may have existed, the centre of it is approximately where the Garden of Eden may have been (i think Iraq or Iran. Excuse my geography if this opinion is not true)? All of this may have been true because the flood split the earth after these events. Also dinosaurs may have existed only near the edge of Pangaea and so Noah may have not been able to travel that far to acquire them (Just a hunch...)

The Flood would also explain that humans have not 'lived for millions of years'. According to the Theory of Plate Tectonics, scientists say that the earth's continents are on large crustal plates that move by convection currents. The thing with this is that the movement of the plates would have taken millions of years to move into their current positions if they came from Pangaea. If the Flood did exist, it would have been able to move the earth's crustal plates much quicker, in probably 40 days and nights...

But all these questions and rushed explanations are just theories that i thought of that may be a plausible explanation to everything in the Bible. If any one can help out with these theories or give their opinions, it would be highly appreciated.

God Bless (and Hope i made sense... :P)

+CD+

We are meant to think we are the worst of sinners are we not? St Anthony is known for his humility but do you think he may have thought he was the worst sinner? God revealed to him someone greater (?) than him.. St Paul the Hermit...
if I am right..

Okay so he believed St Paul the Hermit was better than him maybe but what about the other people? did he think he was better than them?

St Paul the Apostle maybe thought he was the worst of sinner.. but he said by the grace of God I am what I am... I laboured more abundantly than those other apostles.. or something..

Maybe he did not think he was the worst person after God helped him but before he knew Jesus..

So are we only to think that our sins in the past are worse than any other persons sins ? not that we are the worst now? but how can we think that? at the moment I do not think that my sins in the past are worse than many other peoples sins .. e.g St Moses the Black... (But he became a great Saint :) Praise God )

What do you think?

you may not of been able to follow me :(

I do not know if this is worthy of a post.. maybe I will delete it later or an Administrator or something..

Haiie.. this issue has always bothered me .

when someone is on life support is it okay to pull the plug ?

the straight foward answer would be no, because only God has the power to take away a persons life. but think about it.. if it werent for the machine, the person wouldnt be alive.. so if that person lived in a previous time.. they would be dead. and since they are only being kept alive with a machine isnt it possible that theyre spirit is no longer dwelling in their body, but their bodies are still functioning... more as robots than human beings ??

& if the doctors want to pull the plug then that means there is no hope [ except for miracles ofcourse ] .. but what if they do pull the plug. ? if God wanted that person to live He would do it before they pull the plugs out .. right ? God does not make mistakes.

hmm did i make any sence ? if i didnt please ask me to clarify. ANSWERS PLEASE :D .

Can we dance too?" No.. no..

Now, the bishop of Africa, may the Lord preserve His life, was saying that they respected the culture of the african tribes in kenya, and accepted that they will not only do the mass in Swahili, but use the musical culture that goes with it to celebrate the mass.

This is a great sign of respect for the kenyan copts.

THe Coptic mass has adapted to the language and culture of the diaspora - in Kenya.

So, my question is: would it be reasonable in doing this in other countries such as France and the UK, where the mass can be tailored in that language: i.e. have hymns etc in that language with the musical scale associated it with???

In France, we don't speak coptic, there's no one in Church that really understands it, and if they do speak it, they don't pronounce it correctly even. Wouldnt it be better then just to have a mass in French, with French Orthodox songs. Keeping the same coptic melody, but changing the words to french HONESTLY does not work. I mean.... if we do not encourage the use of musical instruments during the mass so as we do not lose concentration or respect for the Eucharist, then such songs can be a distraction as it takes more effort to understand what's being sung because its not soo clear when sung in an oriental/coptic quarter-tone musical scale.

What do you all think??

I stress that this is a discussion, and its something i'd like to discuss. I know how zealous many of you are here concerning the Coptic language, and Coptic hymns, but at the end of the day, isnt Coptic just a language we use to express our faith??? [Like any other language].

Hello fellow Copts:

Hope you are all doing fine.

I have a small question:

You know we can only have the Holy Communion if we are baptised; well, what if a woman is say 9 months pregnant;surely her baby in her womb is also receiving communion??

The question is : should the baby repent? (just kidding ... hahha) ... no the question is what then is the efficacy of paedobaptism in the case where a baby is already receiving communion whilst in his/her mother's womb??

hi everybody,

I got this question saying how do i know that The orbana and the wine we pray on in the holy liturgy really becomes the body and blood of christ. I did research and found that a person took the blood and spit it out of her mouth. She went, put it under a microscope and really found that there were all the cells like red and white and it looked just like a human body cell. I just wanted to share this with you guys as i thought this was really interesting.

PK

A while ago i was put in a position where i had to explain my Christianity to a non-christian, and being my first time, it didnt go so well.. i was mostly disturbed with my answer when he asked whyy i chose to be christian. I told him that it was to reach eternal life.

Although that is our objective as Christians, it shouldn't be the reason we choose to follow the Lord. We follow Him because we LOVE Him, because He gave Himself up for our sins.

Eversince I told my answer, I could not figure out why LOVE wasn't the first thing that came to mind.. and today God opened my eyes.

I had a rather selfish approach to things.. My relationship with God is based on mee, the reason I am Christian is so that I dont end up in eternal suffering. With the knew knowledge that i had gained.. there was another very important question that needed an answer..

Do i REALLY love God with myy alll ??

I searched & searched but I coudn't find an answer.. How do I know that i really LOVEE God & that that's the reason I obey His word ???
