I know the bible does not say God the Father incarnated and became man but the Son did...

but why did not God the Father incarnate and became man?

Was God the Father also united with the human body of Jesus Christ since God the Father is was never seperated from God the Son.. they are one

I hope I don't confuse anyone.. and I advise people to read coptic orthodox theological books if ever confused .. ones that refute heresy..

but how can I know the truth as someone said if I do not ask questions?

perhaps God will reveal to me personally some things.. He does sometimes or maybe all the time.. but I want an answer fast

this issue of God the Father has not been on my head for a long time but just came to me today.

I read after this from a site where someone is saying do not say thankyou father for coming and dying for us .. he/she says God the Son did that

well I think God the Son is the same person as God the Father there is not two different Gods.. oh wait but don't christians believe in three persons. One God ? Im confused about that now

The Son is like the thoughts of a mind and the Father is the mind.. the mind never existed without thoughts.. it would not be a mind.. I read that from a coptic orthodox site

Ok, the story of David and Goliath is quite a common one, but is often questioned by many (non-believers). Christians believe in the infinite possibilities that can occur in Christ’s hands where as some search for archaeological evidence to prove such a stories legibility.
Anyways, ive been exploring the history of this story and found it quite intriguing. THUS I have a couple of questions/raise points of discussion
1)Was Joseph the carpenter a descendant of David?
2)When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years." The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown Genesis 6:1-4, These giants were known as Nephlims. Goliath himself was a member of the Anakim also known as Nephlim (I think), a race of giant people who inhabited the Philistine cities in the neighborhood of Hebron. The Anakim appear to have been an aggressive, war-mongering people who terrified the Israelites.
"The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them." (Numbers 13:32-33)
does anyone know about this? Is it ok to be discussed?

Heavenly mother as God??

There was a woman who came to my door and began to talk about the “Heavenly mother” mentioning her 2 main points.

(1) God is both Male and Female:

Using the verse in Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…” and in Genesis 1:27 “so God created man in His own image; of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (God created Adam and Eve), interpreting it that God is both male and female, and mentioning that we are familiar with Heavenly Father but we forget “our” Heavenly mother” who is considered “God”. She then began to read small verses from certain places in the Bible talking about the Heavenly mother or the bride.
I then told her that God has no gender because He is in the form of Spirit. At which she responded to me to prove it using the Bible.

What does the Bible mean by OUR and US when referring to God in Gen. 1:26? ???

(2) Only the Father and the Mother can give us eternal life:

She said: Just as we came in to this world with both our earthly parents (father and mother), we will also be able to enter into the eternal life through our heavenly father and mother. She then began to say that, quoting from Revelations 22:17 “and the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” And in this passage she said that only the Heavenly father (Spirit) and the Heavenly mother (bride) can give us eternal life (water of life).

I am going to meet with her again and I need to be ready. Now I am not trying to bash her faith or even try to convert her, but to let her know what we as Coptic Christians believe.

Essentially I need help in finding verses from the Bible to let her understand that we do not have a “Heavenly mother” who is considered “God”.
I also need to help interpreting what is meant by the verses that she used above, to what we as Coptic Christians believe.

Thanks a bunch and GB :)

What did this bring with respect differences between us and the Roman Catholics?
The only thing i can see in Vatican II is that they abolished Latin in their masses. (of course the churches who still pray in latin, as far as i understand, are the Traditionalists). This, by the way, makes me think of the effect of having Coptic in our mass?

Thanks for any feedback concerning this issue.

recently on the first of september a middle school in the small town beslan, russia, was taken hostage by terrorists. in russia the first day of school is a celebration where parent, grandparents, friends, and childern go together to enjoy festivities. however this year they were surprised by a group of thirty armed men and women carrying guns. about 1, 300 people were taken to the gymnasium by the attackers. they were surrounded by bombs. i saw this one clip with this young boy sitting on a bomb and the attacker's foot resting on the device which causes it to exploded (sorry i didnt noe wut that device was called). babies were crying and there was this man you got killed for trying to keep people calm. the heat was getting to the young children and infants, that they were dehydrated. they were in three for three days and were made to strip down to their underwear... family members outside screaming trying to get to their loved ones and help them. the leaders of that town feeling helpless.. than when heavy gunfire and explosions began on Friday morning, and it was many hours before special forces had control of the school...young children jumped out of windows trying to escape and the terrorist shoot at them as they ran for it...at the end more than one hundred people died and they were mostly children....mothers making choices between which child to save.. there was this one mother that ran out to and handed one of her children to a police officer and ran back into the building and when someone tried to stop her she said she couldnt live one night without her other to childern... she died holding her daughter and her only son escaped...and there was this women who had a baby and (about) seven year old daughter...one day the terrorist let some mothers and babies go.. she asked of she could bring her daughter too.. he said ok...but when she went back to the gymnasium to get her sis-in-law the terrorist said she had to leave with only her baby son or he would cut open both their stomachs....she had no choice and left with her baby....after the terrorist were captured the mother heard her daughter was taken to the hospital and when she arrived her daughter would calm her down by saying she wasnt in that much pain and she loved them (HER PARENTS) however thank god she survived but is having nightmares about those horrible three guys.....my question is where was god and it turns out that those terrorists were part of an Islamic terroristic group and were also involved in the bombing of the metro station in spain...dont get me wrong im not trying to question god (even though it sounds like it) and i noe god was there when that little girl survived...but what are we to think? how could something like this happen....how could terrorism exist in this level around the world... how much can we pray? i love god with all my heart but how could he let something happen...how could he let september 11 happen....i have heard so many people say that maybe god wanted it to happen to bring us together and for a while it did but no we're back where we started...i hate feeling this way but when i show those clips it brought chills through my body....i guess it just hard to realize that evil doesnt exist in this world and evil that would even kill infants to get what it wants....i just hope God could open my eyes to what he wants me to learn from these events....i do realize that we are blessed in america more than those around the world....thanks for listening...(reading)

GOD BLESS

this a website if u want to know more about this event!
htttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beslan_school_massacre

But why was there all those things before man.. like the dinasours?? Is it maybe because he did everything in 6 days and he made us on the 6th day after he created all the trees, the fruits the animals and all the wonderfull things of Paradaise?? And one day of the 6 days he made us is in Gods time.. ( like right now we're still living on the seventh day which God has rest-which Pope Shenouda said- because the Bible never said there was an end to the seventh day) back to my point lol- im just curiuos...
Hi,
Our Church sent us the reading for Monday's Passion week service. It was on the Fig Tree that Our Lord cursed because it did not bear fruit. The homily on the reading, was saying that Christ was cursing hypocrisy (that the tree showed from the outside that it was bearing fruit, but when He came to eat from it, it had no fruits).

The homily goes on to mention that the fruits we should have are those of the Holy Spirit (that which are stated in the New Testament: Self Control, Joy, Patience etc).

My questions are as follows:

a) How exactly can we have the fruits of the Holy Spirit. You see, we are all baptised, but is that enough? Does being baptised give me these fruits??

b) Its clear that we are only the vessels of the Holy Spirit. That we bear fruits (or we should bear fruits) of the Holy Spirit that abides in us. So, when we falter, when we sin, when we get angry and have no patience, when we swear, or when we lie, how can we say that the these are the fruits of the Holy Spirit?

How can we distinguish between what are the fruits of the Holy Spirits, and what are the fruits of someone's upbringing: Their manners, their kindness, their tolerance... these are also fruits of people's personality. What then distinguishes fruits coming from the Holy Spirit and those arising from someone's own personality?

c) Christ, in this passage, is attacking hypocrisy (according to the homily): that something is shown to be good on the outside, yet in the inside is empty. But even if I do good works, and i BEAR the fruits of the Holy Spirit, and let's say, one day i swear and get angry at someone, is this hypocrisy? Am i hypocrite??

For me a hypocrite is someone that preaches good, yet does the exact opposite: That demands mercy, yet is merciless. That commands respect, yet is disrespecful.

But having fruits of the Holy Spirit is a grace. I think its something that we are priviledged to bear, so those that do not have such fruits, how can they be considered hypocrites?

Thanks,

Acts 2:32-36

32 Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. 33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. 34 Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, 35 and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.
36 And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, 37 having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

Is this somehow a biblical justification of Communism, and could these verses be rightly used to prove that the bible "prefers" communism?
