Hello, today I watched the movie called The Silent Monk which is a movie about the life of Abouna Youstos of St. Anthony's Monastery. I was absolutely amazed by the film and it brought me to tears many times from the beauty of it. I want to know more about him though, but I can't seem to find anything. Is there a book or something online that has his life in English? I would deeply love to know more about this holy Saint of God.

May St. Abouna Youstos' prayers be with us all!

Okay so let me paint the picture for you, one of the churches deacons prays tasbeha in the small room of the saints, and it is only him and his son except when he gets to the third or forth hos. At that time me and my friend who LOVE tasbeha come and try to pray for the remaining time but we don't feel in "the mood" of tasbeha. So me and him said okay we will wait untill he is done and go into the church itself and pray it. Near the end of Ten Theino he comes and stops us and said "who told you guys to do tasbeha?" but not in a argumentative or threatening way. I tell him "nobody told us we just came to do tasbeha because we had SAT classes downstairs". So he insists that we have no need to do tasbeha because he already prayed it. So i say "okay uncle sorry" and i leave, mean while my friend insists to him that we stay and continue our prayer because it is not wrong at all, and he sits for maybe 2 minutes arguing with the deacon. He soon gets fed up and says something in Arabic that i couldn't understand because he said it fast lol, And my friend says come lets finish, but i said no because he told us not to do it.

MY QUESTIONS:-Is it wrong that we prayed tasbeha IN ANOTHER ALTER? if it is wrong please provide me with an explanation of why it is wrong.

Hey everybody,
I just pasted this paragraph straight out of the synixar. I dont really understand why the sin wasnt forgiven, and why couldnt St. Basil forgive her? Why did she need St. Ephraim?
I am sorry for the many questions..

St. Ephraem increased his asceticism, and many great virtues were manifested through him that surpass description. Among which was that of an honorable woman, who was ashamed to confess her sins orally to St. Basil. She wrote on a paper her sins which she had committed since her youth, and gave it to St. Basil. When he received it and knew what was written in it, he prayed for her. The piece of paper became blank except for only one great sin. The woman wept, and entreated him to pray for her that God might forgive this sin for her. St. Basil told her, "Go to the wilderness where St. Ephraem is and he will pray for you." The woman went to him and told him what had happened. He said to her, "I am not worthy of this honor, go back to St. Basil for he is a high priest. Go now quickly before he departs from this world." When the woman returned, she found that St. Basil had departed, and was carried on the heads of the priests. She wept, and threw the piece of paper on his coffin. She prayed to God interceding through the saint. Then, she took the piece of paper, and she found it completely blank.

Satan used to be an angel, but he sinned because he wanted to be equal to God. So he sinned and he never repented, but is there any good in him? How can something that God created be absolutely evil? Everything that God makes is good, so he made angels good, and this specific angel decided to fall, but isn't there even a small amount of good in him? Because we all sin, sure we repent and we feel bad, but no matter how many times we sin, we still have some good in us...

Do the other items have a similar explaination.

If anyone has some links of information or pics I would appreciate it. Also, if anyone can post some pictures of these items, I would really appreciate it. I couldnt get pics this sunday b/c the items were already put away, and I know they can only be taken out by a priest before a Liturgy.

Thank you very much,
God bless you

Agapi

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on here so hopefully I do this right lol.

I have a quick question about when your supposed to do a funeral? Like when someone dies is there a certain amount of time when you're supposed to do the funeral, because I heard somewhere that its supposed to be done within three days when the person died, but I was just recently told that there isn't a specific time when you have to do the funeral. Thank you very much for your help and time :)
