I have some questions for you guys and I hope you can answer them

1-) Whats the primary difference between Copts and Catholics ?
2-) What is your view of the political climate in Egypt ? And do you see hope for the future under the MB?
3-) Whats the Coptic dress code ? (E.g. Muslims are required to wear modestly and not showy so bikinis are a no no)
4-)Whats your view of Muslims ? whats your view of Islam ?
5-)What have you heard of Islam that you find disturbing ? (Back-up with facts and sources)

You dont have to answer them all!

These are my questions for now
Thank You and God Bless!

Hi
Could someone tell me why women cannot be priests/bishops in the Coptic Church?

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before, but I could not find the historical links on this site for this subject.

I understand that we are an apostolic orthodox church, and we follow still the laws given to Moses and the priesthood. That makes sense. No doubt, us as a Church, we have many reasons that prevent this (I am assuming the reasons I've mentioned are linked to the answer. If its incorrect, please let me know).

However, why would the Anglican Church , for example, decide to forbid women priests - they are not following any orthodox/spiritual practices whatsoever for this to be a blocking point for them

Thanks

Hey All,
Firstly, I would like to wish you all a happy new years, and a glorious Nativity Feast, to come! I was delving on the season of Advent, and decided to look at the Thursday Theotokia for some details. I saw a couple contradictory verses, so I decided to do some research. The verses that say that 1) ...For her sake He revoked, the first curse. Which was pronounced upon our race, through the violation, incurred by the first woman, when she ate from the fruit of the tree. 2) He was also born according to the flesh without pain for the Virgin.
From what I understand, the Virgin had deep pain, until she gave birth, and that was painless; the actual birth.
This doesn't seem too right to me. Is there anything I am missing. I know that there was another thread about this, so please don't refer me to it but I am looking forward to see your answers.
FirstChurch
