His Grace Bishop Youannis is the late bishop of Gharbia, Egypt. He was consecrated a monk with the name of Shenouda Al-suriani in the Monastery of the Virgin, Al-surian, Egypt, on June 31, 1955. He was ordained a bishop by the hands of the late Pope Shenouda III on December 2, 1971 as bishop of the diocese of Gharbia. He departed on November 4, 1987.
