Higher Institute of Coptic Studies
The Hymnology and Music Department of the Higher Institute of Coptic Studies (HICS) was founded in 1954 by the late
Dr. Ragheb Moftah Habashy. HICS began taping Coptic hymns on modern equipment of the time and made it easier to
standardise different versions of Coptic hymns.
