Fasting and prayer shame Satan,
Ascetism defeats his evil plots,
Love is the foundation of all growth,
Humility quenches his fires.

He said, “Do not worry about tomorrow,
Tomorrow will worry about itself,
Seek first the Kingdom of God,
And all these will be added to you.”

Give alms to the orphans,
Partake with them in the inheritance,
Be confirmed in the faith,
Labor with the ten talents.

Crowns are prepared for the victorious,
In the place of grace, they shall wear them,
Eternal punishment is for the apostate,
Unceasing worms comparable to serpents.

Do not be double-tongued,
Do not break the laws,
Do not be hypocritical,
For the works of the sinners will shame them.

Refrain:
Blessed are those who have mercy,
Who give to the poor and fast and pray,
The Holy Spirit will fill their hearts,
The Son will show them mercy on Judgment Day.

Arabic-English:
El-soom wel-salah yookhzeyanel shaytan,
Wal zoohde yahzem ta-gha-yanoo,
Wal mahaba a-sas koolel boonyan,
Wal ta-wa-doo’ yakhmed neera-noo.

Qal la tahtamoo lel ghade be sha-an,
Fa enel ghade yahtame be sha-anoo,
Ootlooboo awalan malakoot Allah,
Wa haza koolahoo tazdadoonoo.

Ea’too sadaqa lel moonqa-tea’een,
Le-toosha-re-koo-hoom fel-meeras,
Wa koonoo fel-eman sabteen,
Wa tag-roo fel ‘asha-rut waznat.

Akaleel moo’ada lel fa-ezeen,
Fe dar-el-na-‘em labseen tagat,
Wa ’azaban mookhalad lel-haydeen,
Wa doodan la yanam shebhel-hayat.

La takoonoo zawee leesanen,
Wa sharaea’ la tahaboo feeha,
Wa la tamshoo aydan be-wag-hen,
Fa-enel-athama a’malahoom takhzeehoom.

Refrain:
Toba lil-rohama a‘la masakeen,
Fa-en el-rahama tehele a’lehom,
Will-masih yerham-hom fe yom el-deen,
We yehel broh qodso fehom.

الصوم والصلاة يخزيان الشيطان،
والزهد يهزم طغيانه،
والمحبة أساس كل البنيان،
والتواضع يخمد نيرانه.

قال "لا تهتموا للغد بشأن،
فإن الغد يهتم بشأنه،
أطلبوا أولاً ملكوت الله،
وهذا كله تزدادونه."

أعطوا صدقة للمنقطعين،
لتشاركوهم في الميراث،
وكونوا في الإيمان ثابتين،
وتاجروا في العشرة وزنات.

أكاليل معدة للفائزين،
في دار النعيم لابسين تاجات،
وعذاباً مخلد للحائدين،
ودوداً لا ينام شبه الحيات.

لا تكونوا ذوي لسانين،
والشرائع لا تحابوا فيها،
ولا تمشوا أيضاً بوجهين،
فإن الأثمة اعمالهم تخزيهم.

المرد:
طوبى للرحما على المساكين،
فإن الرحمة تحل عليهم،
والمسيح يرحمهم في يوم الدين،
ويحل بروح قدسه فيهم.
