I open my mouth to praise God
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
And praise He who was humbled
And said, “Baptize me, O John.” |
أنا أفتح فمي بحمد الله،
الآب والإبن والروح القدس،
وأمجد من تواضع وهو الإله،
وقال عمدني يا يوأنس. |
Through His plan He shared with man,
In humanity without blemish
The Holy Creator of the universe,

بتدبيره شارك الإنسان،
في البشرية من غير دنس،
قدوس خالق كل الأكوان،

The time has come, the promise fulfilled
And through the house of David He became Man,
And all souls praise Him,

تم القسم وأوفى الميعاد،
ومن بيت داود تأنس،
وكل الأنفس له عباد،

He made Adam from dust,
The first created of souls,

جابل آدم من التراب،
أول خلقه كل الأنفس،
قدوس هو رب الأرباب،

He carried all our sins,
And gave us the holy promise,

The Light of the Father shone

Blessed are you O John
He chose you out of all

ضاء نور وحيد الآب،
وطهرنا من كل دنس،

God appeared in humanity

Holy and truly great
The Creator was incarnate
And took the flesh from Mary

علم في الهيكل ما في الأسفار،

Gabriel the messenger came

And then she bore God

فنزل بالحكمة ابن الإنسان،
في الأردن مع يوأنس،
واخفى لاهوته عن الشيطان،

And all the heavenly hosts
Praise and glorify
Grateful for the salvation of mankind

هرب الأردن إلى خلف،
من هيبة من فيه غطس،
يسوع الفادي ذي الألطاف،

For He is God, merciful and just
Through His kindness He cleaned the leper
And restored Adam to Paradise

وجميع الطغمات العلوية،
