Why is it the case that if someone is bleeding they cannot partake of the Holy Communion?

"And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:
'My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.'
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." (Hebrews 12:5-11)
You have been blessed CopticStrength - now move ever forwards and onwards. Continue to grow in God, never let Him go. May God continue to bless and strengthen you, remember us in your prayers.

There is no sin which cannot be pardoned except that one which lacks repentance, and there is no gift which is not augmented save that which remains without acknowledgement. For the portion of the fool is small in his eyes. (Mar Isaac, Homily II, Ascetical Homilies)
When thou art in a state of subjection and languid and dejected, and thou art bound and fettered before thy foe in mournful wretchedness and laborious service of sin, then recall to thy mind the previous times of firmness: how thou showest painstaking even concerning small things and how thou wert moved with zeal against the obstructors in thy course: how thou uttered sighs on account of the small things which were despised by thee as accidental and thy whole person was winding a wreath of victory over these things. Then, by these and similar recollections, thy soul will be aroused as from the depth, and be clad with the flame of zeal; and it will rise from it's immersion as if from the dead, and stretch itself and return to it's former state, in hot strife against Satan and sin.
Recollect the fall of the strong, that thou mayest remain humble under thy virtues. And think of the heavy sins of those who fell and repented; and of the praise and honour they received afterwards, so that thou mayest acquire courage during thy repentance. (Mar Isaac, Homily II, Ascetical Homilies)
He who does not willingly remain far from things causing sin will be drawn towards them involuntarily. Things causing sin are wine and women, riches and bodily health. They are not to be called sin in themselves, but on account of man's weakness and their unlawful use, nature is easily drawn by them - more easily than by any other thing - towards different sins and therefore there is need of peculiar caution in regards of them. If thou rememberst continually, and recognisest truly that thou art weak, thou wilt never overstep the borders prescribed by watchfulness. (Mar Isaac, Homily VI, Ascetical Homilies)
Repentance has been given to mankind as a grace beyond grace. Repentance is a second birth from God. This second birth we receive in earnest in Baptism. (Mar Isaac, Ascetical Homilies)
Repentance is the gateway to mercy which is open for all who seek it. By way of this gate we enter divine mercy, and apart from this entrance one cannot find mercy. (Mar Isaac, Ascetical Homilies)
This life has been given to you for repentance; do not waste it in vain pursuits. (Mar Isaac, Ascetical Homilies)

Faith Issues / Re: Matthew 4
« on: April 03, 2013, 12:10:47 PM »What about when our Lord Jesus told Simon Peter and the disciples to keep a secret that he was the Son of God? Wouldn't the devil hear this and know?
I'm not sure about the answer to this. I don't think the devil is so ubiquitous as to be able to hear everything that is being said at any point in time, but I hope someone wiser than I can answer this for our benefit.
Thank you for your respond and that is the one that i always hear when i ask the question but never click with me because how about when the devil was still an angle and in heaven didn't he see christ?
This is another question I'm unsure of. My thinking is that Christ was not incarnate in human form until he was born on Earth - Satan may have seen the glory of God, but could not perceive or imagine that God in his glory would humble himself to take the form of a human, a slave. This is why he was perplexed and was unsure whether Jesus was the Son of God, and why he tested him in order to find out for sure. Again, someone wiser than I will be of more benefit.

« on: April 02, 2013, 02:59:10 PM »the question didn't the devil know that Jesus is God? how can temp him? how can he tell that that he will make him a king over the whole earth and he knows that Jesus is the king?
Please pray for my weakness ALOT
Satan did not at this time know that Jesus was the Son of God.
From St. John Chrysostom's Commentary on Matthew (Homily XIII):
Quote
For, because he had heard a voice borne from above, and saying, “This is My beloved Son;” and had heard also John bearing so large witness concerning Him, and after that saw Him an hungered; he was thenceforth in perplexity, and neither could believe that He was a mere man, because of the things spoken concerning Him; nor on the other hand receive it that He was Son of God, seeing Him as he did in hunger. Whence being in perplexity he utters ambiguous sounds. And much as when coming to Adam at the beginning, he feigns things that are not, that he may learn the things that are; even so here also, not knowing clearly the unutterable mystery of the Economy, and who He may be that is come, he attempts to weave other nets, whereby he thought to know that which was hidden and obscure. And what saith he? “If Thou be Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” He said not, because thou art an hungered, but, “if Thou be Son of God;” thinking to cheat Him with his compliments. Wherefore also he was silent touching the hunger, that he might not seem to be alleging it, and upbraiding Him. For not knowing the greatness of the Economy which was going on, he supposed this to be a reproach to Him. Wherefore flattering Him craftily, he makes mention of His dignity only.
The three temptations which are recorded in the Gospel of St. Matthew are not the only temptations the Lord was exposed to. Satan was attempting to discover his identity, not yet knowing that he was the Son of God, a fact he did not know even until His death in the flesh upon the cross.

A quick Google search suggests that is a quote from Matthew Henry, a 17/18th century English Presbyterian minister, and not a Coptic (or indeed Orthodox) Father at all.

I'll PM you
Thank you for your insight Mina

let me add somethings.....You are right about howtarh elfa3alla and chioo oine refer to each other......but the one that is recorded is tarh elfa3lla and that recording is trust worthy...legit ya3ny. but i havn't heard a recording for chi-o-oinee from anyone other then m fahim and you'll see his recording his like m tafik recording that you listed a couple of previous posts--the tarkeep of the hazzat on the estikhons is the same. but where did they get this from....
http://tasbeha.org/mp3/Hymns/Fasts/Nativity/Higher_Institute_of_Coptic_Studies/Part_3.html
file: "Unknown" (whoever uploaded this didn't know that this is tarh elfa3ala :-))
min: 1:35
so i believe tarh elfa3ala simply has an extra minute of hazzat before you get into the ones on the estikhones....similar to the annual adam into here (http://tasbeha.org/mp3/Praises/Midnight_Praises/Wagdi_Bishara.html - Difnar (Baba 18th) - Annual Adam Tune)....i think m Ibrahim thinks that to....why?! because last year in easter the chorus said choo-oinine in tarh elfa3ala tune, with all those extra hazzat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gau9UfHeey8
m tawfik says that his recording is handed down from m Mikhael and other cantors....IN FACT i believe that m fahim learned those hazzat from him and he was the one who rakebha on chioione.....if you hear some of the interviews of m tawfik, he says that he was brought to egypt many times to spend time with m fahim, being an archdeacon, and teach him some of the alhan from deer elmuharaq. one of those alhan was also lahn el-molakhas, oo-oine afshai which wasn't famous in the Baharee provinces.
Thank you for your insight Mina

Hymns Discussion / Re: Chi-ou-oini
« on: January 08, 2013, 03:09:31 AM »There aren't really "standards" for commentary readings. most have been lost long ago.
We may indeed have lost some tunes for expositions, but this is besides the point. We currently have two tunes for Joyous Expositions we have received (the two tunes in the first post, if there are more you know of, I'd love to hear about them).
The books clearly state that the Exposition of the Saintly Workers (Tarh el fa3ala) is chanted in the tune of Chi-ou-oini, and that Chi-ou-oini is chanted in the tune of the Exposition of the Saintly Workers. We know the tune of the Exposition of the Saintly Workers, many cantors have recorded it. My guess however is that no one ever "rakeb" or fitted the words of Chi-ou-oini to the tune of Tarh el Fa3ala. Albair has merely revived the correct way of chanting Chi-ou-oini (which is in the books).
I am guessing that the recording above from Mlm Tawfik is because he never fitted the words of Chi-ou-oini to the tune of Tarh el Fa3ala, and so recorded it in the "standard" or default tune that all other Joyous expositions are recorded in, the second link.
If someone knows better and I am wrong, please show me how for my benefit, thank you.
