  • Christ says in one time do not judge and in another says judge with righteousness. If I am at a point in my life where I am full of pride and in lack of the Love of God governing my every thought then i shouldn't even look at another person. When Go…
  • There are 18 different tunes for the sherat. Annual, Festal, and Palm Sunday have 3 tunes. Kiahk has 5 and Great Lent has 4

  • There are 2 reasons. The first is that we believe that our church is a community between the heavenly and the earthly. Just as we pray for those alive and next to us we pray for those deceased always by mentioning them in the liturgy etc. From wha…
  • yea ur right yo i got confused lol my bad  i knew something seemed funny when i wrote it
  • There are many different tunes for the tarh. There is the Great one which is about 20 mins or so. Then there are the expositions for palm sunday with its own tune, and annually,as well as kiahky and festively. One of which is chiouoini, also on the …
  • Also you don't really have to face either, you can stand so that you can still see the deacons across from you and next to you while not looking at the congregation and while focusing on prayer. God wont condemn us for standing three degrees to the …
  • Guys it really makes no difference where you look as long as your praying. When the deacons "beyraba3o" its important to look at each other. As long as your focus is prayer, it makes no difference where your looking. Of course its best to look towar…
  • I don't believe it would make sense to pray the Seven Tunes on Bright Saturday. I also feel like some of the footnotes or rules of when things are said have some variation to them.
  • It was said in the Cathedral this year for the Feast of Resurrection. Muallem Fahim has a recording but he says it a little bit differently than the most agreed upon way. Muallem Ibrahim has a recording from this years feast. It is the same tune as …

  • I personally have never heard that you can sing them in the 50s. its only for the three major nightly feasts
  • There is a convention this year and i do believe he will be there. Ill get back to you on dates
  • theres a recording here on tasbeha under Muallem Gads kiahk folder. It really isnt 45 mins by itself. Because its like 20 min in the syllable oi and then continues with the rest of the medium teoi enhikanos. there are also recordings for Tawfik, Mik…
  • Gad learned only a few things from Tawfik. Gad is always a very good source. However with this hymn specifically his recording isnt nice and it isnt completely accurate. Ibo for this one, since there arent any discrepancies in pronunciation is aweso…
  • We say, Hiten nievki ente peniot ettayot enarshe erevs papa avva shenouda just like the book or pamphlet that came out from the baramous monastery However Ibo doesnt say it at all. He only says the metropolitans and the bishops. but im not sure if…
  • Ibrahim is pretty accurate for Al el 3asr. You can go with him for that one. The ma3hads recording isnt the greatest and neither is Gads on this one
  • This third teeshori is a very nice hymn but i personally do not agree with it. Wagdi bishara recorded it and i spoke to him about it and he gave me a whole lineage of where the hymn came from to prove to me that it is authentic. However, being that …

  • correction to my previous post *** i meant white. So during the 12th Hour we switch it to red along with our badrasheens. It stays red until the Reenactment Switched to white during the reenactment and stays that way till the end of the 50s
  • As far as i know the curtain shouldnt be changed to red until after the Resurrection Reenactment on Easter as per what happens in the Cathedral. We did the same in my church this year.
  • Never heard of such a hymn
  • As far as i know, shami doesn't necessarily mean it is lebanese
  • Geomike. sorry thats completely incorrect lol pekethronos, ten theno, etc etc. the list goes on. All of this music comes from ancient times. and If the hymn was placed later on it was made of the same school of music so really the hymns do come from…
  • The hymns that we use come from the pharaonic times. At that time all the egyptians knew were these hymns that they had previosuly used to praise the idols that they worshiped. Afterwards when christianity entered egypt, they took whatever they knew…
  • Even so habibi, she may not be a peace because of what she is feeling in general. It may be unrelated to what type of church she goes to. also id like to bring your attention to something. Bring Jesus Christ to her instead of trying or thinking abo…
  • maybe it isnt her switching churches that has made her this way. What all of us need to do when we see someone in this scenario is do what our Lord would. He wouldnt tell her shes wrong, he wouldnt do anything but show her how much he loves her and …
  • Guys thats not true. Look ive been there several times. its not fast to the point where u cant pray or that you cant even feel anything. Its at a pace where they finish on time so that they can continue with their activities the rest of the day. The…
  • I have them. and yes record setting. Abouna isi is the best btw!
  • IT IS prayed in the annual tune. Not in paschal tune for anything. How can we close the feast and do it in the paschal tune??? it doesnt make any sense for us to end the feast and then right away switch to the mournful tune.
  • The definition of being successful differs from person to person. If success means making a lot of money and having a nice looking wife and a bunch of possesions. yea i guess you can have that. But true success or as id prefer, joy and happiness, in…
  • A man without God is a man without success. Period. You need God in your life in order to succeed in anything that you do and to be happy along with that success. In terms of your parents. Whoever says that you are not supposed to discuss with you…
  • Now question. What are we to say during the liturgy instead of the litany of the fathers? When is the litany for the departed patriarch prayed? What are we to do in the hitenniat?
