What does this mean?

edited December 1969 in Faith Issues
I was wondering if anybody is absolutely sure what these verses mean. It is from 1 Peter 1:3-5 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." Does it mean that the people who these verses are talking about have been granted, by God, their eternal salvation and their eternal life in Heaven forever and for all eternity? What exactly is this inheritance? Will this inheritance be in Heaven forever and for all eternity? When one recieves this inheritance will he/she be in Heaven forever and for all eternity?

Please pray for me always,

  • 1 Peter: 1
"9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls."

They are granted this inheritance because they:
    * constantly ask the support of our powerful God
    * stand firm in faith under any tribulation
They will thus inherit their places in the Kingdom.

St Peter "apostle of Jesus Christ" is strongly reaffirming God's incorruptible promises of glorious salvation to comfort and help strengthen the morale of the faithful believers.
