New Profile Pic

edited December 1969 in Personal Issues
Since many here seem to think it is acceptable for women to dress inappropriate and immodest, I have changed my profile pic to a woman dressed immodestly. It might seem like it, but she is NOT nude, she is a model. Since this is acceptable, I assume nobody will have any complaints.

  • Dude.

    What's your problem?
  • I do not understand why this is happening. I do not think it is appropriate. If you are making some kind of point, I am afraid that it might be lost in the way you are choosing to make it.

Make your point with words, not with breasts, please.

Well, I tried that, all I got was insults. According to some people here, this is acceptable. If you do not like it than you are judging me.
  • There are  strict rules of conduct and dress codes for church.People come to Church late, some dressed half-unclothed ,some chewing gums like cows chewing on chords, some talking ,some texting, some surfing, some facebooking etc. However, the fact that there exist such people who do not honor the teachings and sancitity of the church does not mean their behavior is acceptable. It never is.

I have no idea what you are trying to convey, but I have complaints with your avatar! It is revolting to say the least.

There were several, one of them I cannot find for the life of me. but it was Unworthy1 and Caiphas mainly who repeatedly berated me, no matter what evidence I supplied them with to prove my point. Screw this website I hope I get kicked off of it.
  • Dude, why?

    That's bad, take it off.

What's wrong with you? Don't do this.

    Dude, why?

    That's bad, take it off.

You're applying that we don't the the right to give women rights to do what they want? How bout us men who take off shirts and go out in underwear during hot summer days? Girls don't have the right to wear lighter clothes?

    What's wrong with you?

Khas, do not presume to tell me what I am teaching people. The fact is in church this is unacceptable, but I was insulted and berated for defending the body of Christ because women approach it dressed like whores. I am showing just how repulsive this is to those who feel it is acceptable to dress like a whore in church.
  • See the reaction? When I come to church I do not want to see women dressed immodestly, why? It can bring people to sin, just as this picture could. The church is not a disco, nobody is there to "hook up" or get blind drunk and wake up next to a stranger. The church is a sacred and holy place. Yet, I am being told by some that it is acceptable for women to dress like a common street whore. So, if you do not like the picture, don't look at it, its your fault for looking right? (That is the common response I get from misguided women, its the mans fault for looking)

Look Ionnes, the only person that see women approaching the body of Christ looking like whores is those who have the sexuality to perceive what is 'whore-like' and what is not. However, I've never ever seen a woman dress up badly when coming to church.
  • Yes, fine, I agree, Ioannes...but surely most of us know what is immodest without even having to look, much less have it in our faces like this? If some misguided woman (or man!) thinks that the church is the place to wage a war over their identity politics, then they are the ones who are misguided, right? It's not going to help to expose us all to near-pornography to make a point to the minority who most likely will not listen. Only God can change people's hearts.

Why can't we all just get along?

Exactly. We're all Christians, it's not right to judge others. Before looking at others look at yourself.

ANYONE that comes to church and and dresses like that, that can bring others to sin, that is not judging because it can effect others. And if you really think that you have to have the "sexuality" to perceive it like that, why don't you tell that to Tertullian, or Clement?

  • The appropriate way do deal with this problem Ioannas is one on one, otherwise it is bullying, trying to get others to back you up. I for one have always, if I have found something wrong with what people do, if it really worries me that much, I talk to them about it, one on one.

Telling a girl that she is dressed inappropriately in church is like asking to get slapped! I know where ur coming from Ioannes but I think its best to take this issue up with the priest of the church. I know my priest is ALWAYS talking about dressing appropriately and shaving and showering before coming to Church. So this is something your priest can deal with. Speaking about it here will not solve the issue.

    God Bless.

  • If you went up to the girl and said,"The way you dress is probably inappropriate for church, what do you think"? Then if you get slapped. I would say she is in the wrong place. I can't see how she is glorifing GOD. That's what we're there for. Saying thanks for blessings. Saying sorry for our sin. Praying to the spiritually wise among us, eg Our Pope, Bishops, and all the saints.

Poor Origen, his soldier was martyred in the line of duty and hence he would never be elevated to the priesthood.
  • When there is something I do not approve of, I do not do it.
But I have no right to go and judge and punish others for what they do. I am not a religious leader or judge. It isn't my job to go and tell people what to do.

When I think someone is doing something which is against my beliefs, I can avoid them. And if they are not hurting me or hurting another human being..then they are free to do what they wish. God can deal with them. I am barely able to run my own life, never mind other people's lives.

Arrogance and narrow mindedness will not help me to put things right.

Just the way I choose to live.
